Online casinos accept five kinds of payment method: bank cards (Visa, Mastercard), e-wallets (Skrill, Neteller, PayPal, Payz), bank payments (Trustly, instant banking, wire transfer, iDEAL, Interac), prepaid vouchers (paysafecard, Neosurf) and cryptocurrency. The best one for you depends on three things: whether it works in your country, whether the casino lets you withdraw to it, and what it costs. Debit cards and bank transfers are accepted almost everywhere; e-wallets usually pay out fastest once a withdrawal is approved; vouchers are deposit-only in practice. This hub compares every method we cover, with limits and fees we checked on the providers’ own pages on 8 October 2026.

The casinos above are offshore or EU-licensed brands whose payments pages we read on 6 to 8 October 2026. Each one restricts some countries, and each says that not every listed method is available in every country: the cashier you see after login is the final word.

UK players

Only operators licensed by the UK Gambling Commission may offer gambling to people in Great Britain (Gambling Act 2005). GAMSTOP self-exclusion only covers UKGC-licensed sites. None of the casinos in our list holds a UKGC licence or is aimed at UK residents. In Great Britain, licensed casinos may not accept credit cards for gambling, directly or through an e-wallet funded by a credit card, since 14 April 2020. If you live in Great Britain, choose a UKGC licensee and check it on the Commission’s public register before you deposit.

Casino payment methods compared

The table gives the main facts for each method we have a guide for. “Speed” means the time after the casino has approved a withdrawal; approval itself usually takes hours to three days and depends on identity checks.

Method Type Deposits Withdrawals Speed after approval Main markets
Visa and Mastercard Card Instant Often, to the same card Minutes to several banking days Worldwide; credit cards banned for gambling in the UK and for licensed wagering in Australia
Skrill E-wallet (Paysafe) Instant Yes Usually minutes UK, EEA and many other countries
Neteller E-wallet (Paysafe) Instant Yes Usually minutes UK, EEA and many other countries; not the USA
PayPal E-wallet Instant Yes, at approved merchants Usually within a day Only regulated markets where PayPal approves the casino
Payz (ex-ecoPayz) E-wallet Instant Where the casino supports it Usually minutes UK and most of the EEA
paysafecard Prepaid voucher Instant Only to a registered paysafecard account, if the casino supports payouts Varies 50+ countries
Neosurf Prepaid voucher Instant Rarely; casinos pay out by bank instead Varies Europe, Canada, Australia and others
Trustly Open banking Instant Yes Minutes to one banking day About 20 European countries, plus North America
Zimpler Bank payment (mobile) Instant Yes Minutes to one banking day Nordic countries
iDEAL Dutch bank payment Instant No; payouts go to your IBAN Usually within a day Netherlands, at KSA licensees
Interac Canadian bank transfer Instant Often Minutes to one banking day Canada
Instadebit Bank-linked wallet Instant Yes Usually within a day Canada
POLi Bank payment Closed in Australia on 30 September 2023; see our guide for what replaced it
American Express Card Instant where accepted Rarely Several banking days Fewer casinos than Visa or Mastercard
Wire transfer Bank transfer Hours to days Yes One to five banking days Worldwide
UPayCard E-wallet Instant Where supported Varies A small number of casinos
Bitcoin and crypto Cryptocurrency After network confirmation Yes, at crypto casinos Minutes to an hour on-chain Offshore casinos; not UKGC sites in practice

Two rules apply almost everywhere. First, you can usually only withdraw to a method you have deposited with, in your own name. Second, every licensed casino checks your identity before it pays out, so the method only decides the last step of the journey, not the first.

Methods that no longer exist or changed name

Older casino pages, including earlier versions of this one, still list payment services that closed years ago. Here is what happened to them:

  • ecoPayz became Payz in 2023. The wallet still works under the new name; some casino cashiers still show the old one.
  • Entropay, a virtual prepaid card, closed on 1 July 2019 after Visa withdrew support for it.
  • ClickandBuy closed in 2016.
  • POLi stopped processing payments in Australia on 30 September 2023.

If a casino in 2026 still advertises Entropay or ClickandBuy, its payments page has not been maintained, and that tells you something about the rest of the site too.

How to choose a casino payment method

  1. Check it works where you live. Trustly, Zimpler, iDEAL, Interac and Instadebit are tied to specific countries. PayPal only works at casinos it has approved in regulated markets.
  2. Check you can withdraw with it. paysafecard and Neosurf are deposit methods for most players; winnings then go to a bank account, which means extra verification.
  3. Check the bonus terms. Many casinos exclude e-wallet and voucher deposits from welcome bonuses. Goldroll’s bonus terms (section 2.5) exclude Neteller, Skrill and paysafecard deposits, and Spin Sweet’s welcome terms exclude the same methods.
  4. Add up the fees. The casino may charge nothing while the provider does: a currency conversion or a withdrawal from the e-wallet to your bank costs money (see the fee table below).
  5. Think about limits. Voucher payments are capped (GBP 40 per payment without a paysafecard account in the UK), and casinos set their own withdrawal caps, for example EUR 5,000 per 24 hours at Goldroll.

Provider fees we checked

Casinos rarely charge for deposits, but the payment provider might. These figures come from each provider’s fee page as it stood on 8 October 2026; they change, so check again before you rely on them.

Provider Paying a casino Withdrawing to your bank Currency conversion Inactivity
Skrill (EEA) Upload from bank 0%, card up to 1.25% 1.75%, minimum EUR 3.50 3.99% EUR 5 a month after 6 months without login or transaction
Neteller Most upload methods 2.5% 1.75%, minimum USD 3.50 Up to 3.99% USD 5 a month after 6 months
PayPal (UK personal) No fee without conversion No fee without conversion Spread above the base exchange rate See PayPal’s fee page
paysafecard (UK) Voucher price only GBP 6 per refund Fee charged, rate in the currency calculator GBP 5 a month from month 13 without account activity
Trustly No fee from Trustly No fee from Trustly Bank’s own rate None

Credit card issuers may treat a gambling payment as a cash advance, with a fee and interest from day one; Skrill’s fee page warns about this, and it is outside the casino’s control.

How fast are casino withdrawals by method?

A withdrawal passes through three stages: the casino’s pending period and approval, the payment network, and your bank or wallet crediting the money. The casino stage is usually the longest. Goldroll, for example, says it processes all withdrawals within 72 hours and that bank transfers are processed on the same working day, typically arriving within one working day. Once approved, e-wallet and crypto payouts usually land within minutes, card payouts within minutes to several banking days, and wire transfers within one to five banking days. Our fast payout casinos page compares stated processing times at the casinos we list.

To speed things up, verify your account before you request money, use a method in your own name, and avoid weekends for bank payouts. Many casinos also ask for a source-of-wealth questionnaire above a deposit threshold: Goldroll asks once your deposits exceed EUR 2,000.

Payment methods by country

Country What players typically use Rules to know
United Kingdom Debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, open banking Credit cards banned for gambling since 14 April 2020; only UKGC licensees may serve British players. Not every operator offers PayPal: Sky Betting and Gaming brands say they no longer accept it.
Canada Interac, Instadebit, cards Ontario has its own regulated market (iGaming Ontario).
Netherlands iDEAL Only Kansspelautoriteit licensees may serve Dutch players; see our iDEAL casino guide.
Nordic countries Trustly, Zimpler, Pay N Play Sweden and Denmark license their own markets.
Australia Cards, bank transfer Credit cards banned for licensed wagering since 11 June 2024; online casinos may not be offered to Australians under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.
United States State-licensed casinos only Neteller does not operate in the USA; none of the casinos we list accepts US players.

How we rate payments at a casino

Payments and withdrawals carry 20% of every casino score under the method on our how we rate casinos page: we read the operator’s payments page and terms, note the stated processing time, caps, fees and verification rules, and never claim test deposits we did not make. Corrections and the separation between commercial deals and scores are explained in our editorial policy.

Play safely

Online gambling is for adults only: 18+ in most countries and higher in some. Set a deposit limit in the casino account before your first payment, and never use a payment method to chase losses. GamCare runs the free National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133. Our responsible gambling guide lists help lines by country, plus self-exclusion tools and bank gambling blocks.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best payment method for online casinos?

For most players a debit card or an e-wallet such as Skrill or Neteller is the most practical: both are widely accepted and allow withdrawals. E-wallets usually pay out fastest once a withdrawal is approved. Check first that the method works in your country and that it does not void the bonus.

Which casino payment method is the fastest for withdrawals?

After the casino approves a withdrawal, e-wallets and cryptocurrency usually arrive within minutes, while cards and bank transfers can take one to five banking days. The casino’s own approval and identity checks are usually the slowest part.

Can I withdraw to a different method than I deposited with?

Usually not. Most casinos send withdrawals back to the method you deposited with, in your own name. Deposit-only methods such as paysafecard are the exception: winnings then go to a bank account.

Are there fees for casino deposits and withdrawals?

The casino often charges nothing, but providers can. Skrill charges 1.75% (minimum EUR 3.50) to withdraw to a bank in the EEA and 3.99% for currency conversion, and paysafecard deducts a refund fee. Check each provider’s fee page.

Can I use a credit card at an online casino?

Not in Great Britain, where licensed operators have been banned from accepting credit cards for gambling since 14 April 2020, including through e-wallets funded by a credit card. Australia bans credit cards for licensed wagering since 11 June 2024. Elsewhere it depends on the casino and your card issuer.

Is ecoPayz still available?

Yes, under a new name. ecoPayz rebranded as Payz in 2023, and accounts carried over. Some casino cashiers still show the ecoPayz name.

Which payment methods are anonymous?

None is fully anonymous at a licensed casino, because the casino must verify your identity before paying out. Prepaid vouchers keep your bank details private at deposit, but you will still need ID and usually a bank account to withdraw.
