A Zimpler casino lets you deposit and withdraw straight from your bank account through Zimpler, a Swedish pay-by-bank provider, instead of using a card or an e-wallet. Zimpler works mainly in Sweden and Finland, and in both countries the law decides which casinos may serve you: in Sweden only operators licensed by Spelinspektionen, in Finland only Veikkaus until the licensed market opens on 1 July 2027. This page explains how Zimpler works, what it costs, how fast payouts are and what the rules say, as checked on 8 October 2026.

We do not run a casino list on this page. The casinos we work with do not offer Zimpler to the markets where it is used without restrictions on their welcome offers, and we will not list a casino for a country where we cannot show that it may serve you. If you want to compare casinos, our guide to casino payment methods links every method we cover. Where we do list casinos, we score them with the six weighted criteria on our how we rate casinos page, where licence for your country carries 30% of the score.

How a Zimpler deposit works

Zimpler sits between your bank and the casino. You never type card numbers, and the casino never sees your online banking login. The steps are short:

  1. Choose Zimpler in the casino cashier and enter the amount.
  2. Pick your bank from the list Zimpler shows for your country.
  3. Confirm with your bank’s own login, which is BankID in Sweden and your bank codes or mobile ID in Finland.
  4. Approve the payment in your banking app. The casino balance updates once Zimpler confirms it.

Because the payment comes from an account in your own name, the casino also learns who is paying. That is what makes Pay N Play possible: the bank login confirms your identity, and the deposit opens the account at the same time. In Finland the Zimpler ID+ product is used for this step, according to Zimpler.

Deposits and withdrawals: limits, fees and times

Zimpler does not set casino limits itself. The casino decides the minimum and maximum, and your bank may cap daily transfers. The table shows what applies and who sets it.

Deposit Withdrawal
Minimum Set by the casino (often around EUR 10 to 20) Set by the casino
Maximum Casino limit, plus your bank’s daily transfer limit Casino daily, weekly or monthly caps
Fee from Zimpler None published for consumers None published for consumers
Speed Marketed as instant once you approve it Marketed as instant once the casino has approved the payout
Main delay Bank login or approval The casino’s own review and identity checks

Treat “instant” as a statement about the transfer, not the whole withdrawal. Zimpler’s own site promises instant payouts with no cut-off times; the casino may still hold a request while it checks your account. Our fast payout casinos guide explains the three stages of a withdrawal and which one causes most delays.

Where Zimpler works, and what the law says there

Sweden

Under the Gambling Act (Spellag 2018:1138), only companies licensed by Spelinspektionen may offer gambling to people in Sweden. Licensed sites must check Spelpaus, the national self-exclusion register, before you play. Sites without a Swedish licence do not check it, so a Spelpaus block does not protect you there.

Zimpler and Spelinspektionen have history. On 6 July 2023 the regulator ordered Zimpler, under a SEK 25 million penalty, to stop providing payment services to gambling companies that served Swedes without a licence. The administrative court annulled that order in May 2024, and the administrative court of appeal rejected the regulator’s appeal in February 2025. Separately, Finansinspektionen gave Zimpler a remark and an administrative fine of SEK 3 million in October 2025 for shortcomings in its anti-money-laundering work. The payment institution authorisation remains active.

For a Swedish reader the practical point is simple: a Zimpler logo says nothing about whether a casino holds a Swedish licence. Check the operator in Spelinspektionen’s licence register. Our page on casinos without a Swedish licence explains what you give up at an unlicensed site.

Finland

Finland’s new Gambling Act (Rahapelilaki 10/2026) opens online casino, betting and slots to licensed operators from 1 July 2027. Until 30 June 2027 Veikkaus keeps the exclusive right to offer gambling in Finland, and other companies may not provide or market it there. The National Police Board (Poliisihallitus) supervises the market until then and keeps a list of operators whose payments must be blocked; payment service providers must block payments from Finnish customers to listed operators. The minimum age is 18.

From July 2027 the new Lupa- ja valvontavirasto takes over licensing and supervision. Expect many casinos to change their Finnish payment set-ups around that date.

Estonia and other markets

Zimpler describes a deposit flow for Estonian banks with eID support. It says its network reaches more than 25 markets, but that does not mean every casino can offer Zimpler in every one of them. The bank list you see in the cashier is the real test.

Zimpler versus other bank-payment methods

Method Main markets How you confirm Payouts
Zimpler Sweden, Finland Bank login (BankID in Sweden) To your bank account
Trustly Nordics, much of the EU, UK Bank login To your bank account
Bank wire transfer Worldwide Bank details and reference To your bank account, slower

If Zimpler is not offered, Trustly casinos work the same way across more countries, and a classic wire transfer works almost anywhere, only slower. For casinos that skip the sign-up form entirely, see our guide to no-account casinos.

Identity checks (KYC)

Paying by bank does a lot of the identity work for you, but not all of it. Licensed casinos must still check your age and identity, and anti-money-laundering rules require more checks once deposits or withdrawals pass certain thresholds. In practice that can mean a request for proof of address or source of funds even after a smooth Zimpler deposit. Have those documents ready before you request a large payout.

Pros and cons of Zimpler

Pros Cons
No card numbers or wallet accounts to manage Mainly Sweden and Finland
Deposit and payout to the same bank account No public consumer fee schedule
Supports Pay N Play sign-up A Zimpler logo is no proof of a valid licence for your country
Regulated payment institution in Sweden Casino approval still decides payout speed

UK players

In Great Britain only operators licensed by the UK Gambling Commission may offer gambling (Gambling Act 2005), and GAMSTOP self-exclusion covers those licensed sites only. Zimpler is a Nordic service and is rarely offered by UK-licensed casinos; Trustly and debit cards are the usual bank-based options there.

Play safely

Gambling is for adults only: 18+ in Sweden and Finland, and higher in some countries. Set a deposit limit before your first payment. In Sweden, Stödlinjen offers free, confidential help on 020-81 91 00. In Finland, Peluuri answers on 0800 100 101. Our responsible gambling page lists more support services and tools.

Frequently asked questions

What is Zimpler?

Zimpler is a Swedish pay-by-bank provider. Zimpler AB (556887-9984) is authorised by Finansinspektionen as a payment institution, and TrueLayer completed its purchase of the company on 3 March 2026. It moves money straight between your bank account and a merchant, without a card.

Which countries can use Zimpler?

Sweden and Finland are Zimpler’s core markets, and it also describes a deposit flow for Estonian banks. In Brazil it received Pix authorisation from the central bank in November 2025. Availability in any other country depends on the merchant’s cashier, so check before you sign up.

Does Zimpler charge fees for casino deposits?

Zimpler does not publish a consumer fee schedule for casino payments. The casino’s cashier and terms decide whether a fee applies, and your bank may have its own charges, so read both before you confirm.

Can I withdraw casino winnings with Zimpler?

Yes, where the casino supports Zimpler payouts. The money goes back to the bank account you deposited from. Zimpler markets instant payouts, but the casino’s own approval and identity checks come first, and those usually take longer than the transfer.

Is Zimpler the same as Pay N Play?

No. Pay N Play is a casino sign-up model in which your bank payment also confirms who you are, so you skip a separate registration form. Zimpler is one of the providers that can power it; Trustly is another. A casino can also offer Zimpler as an ordinary deposit method.

Can Swedes use Zimpler at casinos without a Swedish licence?

Only operators licensed by Spelinspektionen may offer gambling to people in Sweden. Spelpaus self-exclusion only applies at those licensed sites. We do not list unlicensed casinos for Swedish players on this page.
