Great Adventure is an Ancient Egypt explorer slot from Amusnet (formerly EGT Interactive) with 5 reels, 3 rows and 25 fixed paylines. Amusnet lists it with an RTP of 96.44%, volatility of 3 out of 5, a top win of 1,000 times the bet per line and a release date of 3 December 2014. Its main feature is a pick bonus: three or more notebook scatters open the Statue feature, where one of five statues reveals up to 10 free spins with golden Wild symbols. Amusnet’s gamble and Jackpot Cards complete the package.
This review sets out the specs from the studio, how each feature works, what 96.44% means at real stakes, how to play the demo and who the game suits. We name no casino because none of our partner lobbies showed the game when we checked on 8 October 2026. Slots are for adults only, 18+.

Theme and symbols
Amusnet describes the setting as Ancient Egypt, with mysterious treasures, scarabs and a hidden temple. The reels carry the explorer and his patron as the premium characters, Egyptian treasures and card-style low symbols, with the explorer’s notebook as the scatter. VegasSlotsOnline lists the top prizes in coins as 25,000 for the notebook, 20,000 for the explorer and 10,000 for the patron; as is usual for Amusnet games, the coin values depend on the line bet you choose. The game uses the studio’s classic interface from its 2014 generation, now delivered in HTML5 so it runs in mobile browsers too.
How the features work
The Statue feature
Landing three, four or five notebook scatters anywhere triggers the Statue feature. The scene moves inside the temple and five statues appear. You choose one, and it reveals a number of free spins; VegasSlotsOnline and SlotCatalog give the range as 3 to 10, and Amusnet says up to 10. The choice is a presentation device: the result is decided by the game’s random number generator, not by which statue you pick, so there is no skill element.
Free spins with golden Wilds
Amusnet describes the free spins as including special golden Wild symbols for extra winning potential. Databases explain the mechanism in more detail: at the start of the round one of the regular symbols turns into a golden Wild for the duration of the free spins, which adds a second substitute symbol to the reels. More notebooks during the round retrigger the feature, so the free spins can extend. Amusnet does not publish the distribution of the 3 to 10 spins or the trigger rate, so we cannot calculate the average value of the bonus.
Gamble
After a win you can gamble on the colour of a hidden card. A correct guess doubles the win and a wrong one loses it; VegasSlotsOnline notes that the gamble is only offered on wins below 15,000 coins. A fair 50:50 guess does not change the expected return, but it does make each session swing more. If your aim is a longer session on a fixed budget, leave it alone.
Jackpot Cards
Like most Amusnet slots, Great Adventure can carry the Jackpot Cards mystery jackpot. It starts at random after a game: you turn over cards from 12 face-down cards until three of one suit appear, and each suit stands for a jackpot level, from clubs up to spades. The levels are funded across the casino or network, so their size and even their presence differ between sites. Our guide to progressive and mystery jackpots explains how such pools grow.
What 96.44% means at real stakes
RTP describes the long run. At 96.44% the house edge is 3.56%, so on average the game keeps EUR 3.56 for every EUR 100 staked. With 25 lines always active, the stake per spin is 25 times the line bet, and a single top line pays 1,000 times the line bet, or 40 times the total stake.
| Line bet | Stake per spin (25 lines) | 500 spins staked | Expected loss at 96.44% | Single top line win |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.01 | 0.25 | 125 | 4.45 | 10 |
| 0.04 | 1.00 | 500 | 17.80 | 40 |
| 0.10 | 2.50 | 1,250 | 44.50 | 100 |
Real sessions scatter around those averages, and a run of free spins with a golden Wild can move a session well above them. A medium volatility rating means such swings are smaller than on the high volatility slots that dominate new releases. If a casino runs a lower RTP setting than 96.44%, the expected loss rises in the same proportion.
Great Adventure and bonus wagering
Medium volatility and a 96.44% RTP make Great Adventure a reasonable game for clearing wagering, if the casino lets it count. As a worked example, a EUR 50 bonus with 35x wagering requires EUR 1,750 of stakes. At a 3.56% house edge the expected loss over that wagering is about EUR 62, more than the bonus itself, so the offer has negative value even on this game. With a lower wagering multiple the picture improves: at 20x (EUR 1,000 of stakes) the expected loss falls to about EUR 36, leaving a small positive expectation. Always check the maximum bet rule and the game contribution list first; our free spins guide and welcome bonus guide walk through the same sums.
How to play the Great Adventure demo
- Open the demo at a site that offers Amusnet demos. The credits have no cash value.
- Pick a line bet; all 25 lines play on every spin.
- Open the paytable and help pages: check the notebook scatter, the golden Wild rule and the RTP figure if it is shown.
- Play until you have seen the Statue feature at least two or three times, so you get a feel for how often it comes and what it pays.
- Keep the gamble off and use your normal stake if you want the demo to mirror real play.
In Great Britain, licensed casinos must verify your age before you can open their free-to-play games (since 7 May 2019), so the demo may need an account there.
Who Great Adventure suits
- Suits: players who like scatter-and-free-spins slots in the style of the classic book games, with simple rules.
- Suits: moderate budgets, thanks to medium volatility and a 96.44% RTP that is above many land-based style slots.
- Less suited: players looking for modern mechanics such as cascades, Megaways or bonus buys; this is a 2014 design.
- Less suited: anyone chasing very large multipliers, given the 1,000x per line ceiling.

Where to play
We only name a casino on a game page when we can see the game in its lobby. None of the casinos we work with carried Great Adventure when we checked on 8 October 2026. That does not mean the game is retired: Amusnet still lists it on its own game site, and casino lobbies change often. If you find the game elsewhere, check the operator’s licence on the regulator’s register before depositing; our safe casinos guide explains how.
Similar slots
The closest relatives are the book-style Egypt slots, led by Novomatic’s Book of Ra series, covered on our Novomatic studio page: a scatter that unlocks free spins with a special symbol is the shared idea. Amusnet itself has a long list of adventure and Egypt titles in the same interface. For the background on volatility, RTP and paylines, see the free slots hub and our gaming software overview.
Real-money play: UK and US players
Only operators licensed by the UK Gambling Commission may offer gambling to people in Great Britain (Gambling Act 2005), and GAMSTOP self-exclusion covers UKGC-licensed sites only. At UK-licensed casinos, online slots follow extra rules: since 31 October 2021 a spin must last at least 2.5 seconds and autoplay and turbo features are banned, since 9 April 2025 the maximum stake is GBP 5 per spin, and since 21 May 2025 it is GBP 2 for players aged 18 to 24. None of our partner casinos accepts players from the United States.

How do you trigger free spins in Great Adventure?
Three or more scatter symbols (the explorer’s notebook) start the Statue feature. You pick one of five statues, and the statue reveals your free spins, up to 10 according to Amusnet. During the free spins, golden Wild symbols increase the winning chances, and the feature can be retriggered.
Who makes Great Adventure?
Amusnet Interactive, the Bulgarian online studio known as EGT Interactive until June 2022. Many lobbies still list the game under EGT.
How many paylines does Great Adventure have?
It has 25 fixed paylines on 5 reels and 3 rows. Some databases list 10 lines, but Amusnet’s own game page gives 25.
What is the maximum win on Great Adventure?
Amusnet states 1,000 times the bet per line. Several lines can pay at once, and the Jackpot Cards mystery jackpot is paid on top where a casino runs it.
