3.1 out of 5How we rate

Avalon78 Casino is a medieval-themed online casino run by N1 Interactive Ltd, a Malta company that holds Malta Gaming Authority licence MGA/B2C/394/2017. The licence is real and current in the MGA register, the cashier is fee-free and the responsible gambling tools are complete. Against that, N1 Interactive has been fined twice by the Dutch regulator, the welcome bonus carries 40x wagering on fairly small amounts, and the casino turns away players from the UK, the USA, the Netherlands, Ontario and more than 140 other countries and territories. It suits adults in accepted markets such as Canada outside Ontario or New Zealand who want a straightforward slots lobby and modest bonuses.

This review is desk research. We checked the operator’s terms and conditions (version 2.8, last updated 23 January 2024), bonus terms, promotions, payments, FAQ, complaints and responsible gaming pages, the MGA licence register and the Kansspelautoriteit sanction pages on 8 October 2026. The casino pages were loaded through Canadian and New Zealand connections. We did not open an account, deposit or play, so nothing below is a measured payout time or a test result.

The company named in the Avalon78 footer is the same company the MGA lists, and avalon78.com appears among the website addresses on that register entry. The same entry also covers n1casino.com, betamo.com, spinia.com, bobcasino.com, betchan.com, duxcasino.com, cookiecasino.com, casinorex.com, masonslots.com, slothunter.com and pinocasino.com, so Avalon78 is one of a family of sister casinos sharing one licence, one back office and the same terms structure.

A Maltese licence gives you a known company in an EU jurisdiction, regulator oversight of game fairness and anti-money-laundering rules, and a complaints route. It does not give you a regulator that settles your personal dispute. The MGA’s Player Support Unit stopped ruling on individual disputes on 1 April 2019; players now go to an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) body. Avalon78’s complaints page sets out the steps: write to [email protected], ask for escalation to management, and if you are still unhappy eight weeks after escalation, refer the case free of charge to CasinoReviews.com, the ADR named on both the casino page and the MGA register. Players in the EU are also pointed to the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform.

Regulator action against N1 Interactive

The Dutch Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) has fined the operator twice for offering online gambling to Dutch players without a Dutch licence. Neither case was about Avalon78 itself, but both concern the same licence holder, and our method counts enforcement history against the licence score.

  • EUR 500,000, betchan.com. The KSA sanction page, dated 13 July 2021, says games were offered without a licence through betchan.com in any case from 9 January 2020 to 9 September 2020. The district court rejected N1’s appeal on 26 January 2023. On 26 November 2025 the Council of State (Raad van State) set the fine at EUR 497,500, solely because the proceedings had exceeded a reasonable time (ECLI:NL:RVS:2025:5728).
  • EUR 12,640,000, bobcasino.com. The sanction decision, dated 20 December 2022 and listed on the KSA page under 3 March 2023, followed a KSA check of bobcasino.com on 23 November 2021, when a Dutch account could be opened and funded. The objection was dismissed on 6 June 2023. The court ruled on 23 August 2024 that, although the appeal was well founded, the fine stands.

We found no decision naming N1 Interactive in the Swedish regulator’s material we searched, and the MGA register shows the B2C licence as active. Remember too that the MGA licence says nothing about whether online casino play is legal where you live. That depends on your own country’s law, which is why the next section matters more than the licence seal.

Which countries Avalon78 accepts

The “Who can play?” section of the terms lists the restricted countries. Players from these places “are prohibited from playing real money wagering games”: Slovenia, Latvia, the United States, Australia, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Estonia, Italy, France, Turkey, Spain, Slovakia, the French overseas territories, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Portugal, Belarus, Israel, Gibraltar, the UAE, Jersey, Ukraine, Greece, China, Cyprus, Serbia, Norway, Ontario (Canada), Romania, Georgia, Hungary, Brazil, Colombia, India, Mexico, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia and a long list of other states in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Pacific. Using a VPN from a restricted country can lead to a blocked account and confiscated funds.

The FAQ carries a shorter copy of the same list that leaves out the Netherlands and Russia. The terms are the binding document and they include both, so treat the FAQ as out of date on that point.

  • UK players: only operators licensed by the UK Gambling Commission may offer gambling to people in Great Britain under the Gambling Act 2005, and GAMSTOP self-exclusion only covers UKGC sites. Avalon78 is not UKGC-licensed, lists the United Kingdom as restricted and is not for UK residents.
  • United States: restricted in the terms. Avalon78 is not for US players.
  • Netherlands: restricted in the terms, and N1 Interactive holds no KSA licence. Given the two KSA fines above, Dutch players should use a KSA-licensed site; our iDEAL casino guide covers those.
  • Sweden: not on the restricted list, but the bonus terms (clause 1a) exclude Swedish players from every bonus, promotion, VIP reward and comp-point exchange. Avalon78 has no Spelinspektionen licence, so Spelpaus does not apply to it.
  • Ireland, Finland and Croatia: accepted, but excluded from all deposit-based bonuses (bonus terms, clause 2a).
  • Germany: not restricted, and the terms add German-specific rules: a 5.3 % fee on real-money bets, a EUR 1,000 monthly deposit limit set at registration and an hourly reality check with a five-minute pause. Those rules mirror German law, but they do not show a German licence, so check the regulator’s whitelist before you play.
  • Canada: accepted outside Ontario, with Interac and Instadebit in the cashier. NYX (NextGen) games are blocked for Canadian players.

Welcome bonus and bonus terms

The homepage advertises a welcome package of up to EUR 250 plus 150 free spins. Section 5 of the bonus terms splits it across the first three deposits, each claimed with a bonus code:

Deposit Bonus (EUR accounts) Free spins Code CAD / NZD maximum
1st 100 % up to EUR 100 100 on The Sword and The Grail, 20 a day for 5 days AVALON100 150
2nd 75 % up to EUR 50 50 on Spartan King AVALON75 75
3rd 30 % up to EUR 100 None AVALON50 150
Total Up to EUR 250 150 375

The Canadian promotions page shows the same structure in dollars: 100 % up to C$150 plus 100 spins, 75 % up to C$75 plus 50 spins, and 30 % up to C$150. If a spin game is unavailable, the spins go to Fire & Steel instead.

Term Rule in the bonus terms
Minimum deposit EUR 20, USD 20, CAD 25 or NZD 25 (clause 1d)
Wagering 40x for deposit bonuses and free-spin winnings (clauses 1i and 5a to 5c)
Applies to The bonus amount, going by the FAQ’s worked example; the terms do not say that the deposit is included
Maximum bet EUR 5 / USD 5 / CAD 8 / NZD 8 while a bonus is active, bought features included (clauses 1c and 4k)
Expiry 14 days per bonus
Maximum cashout No cap stated for the welcome bonus; other deposit, cashback and VIP bonuses are capped at EUR 10,000 (clause 1f); no-deposit spins at EUR 50
Game contribution Slots 100 % (with listed exceptions); table games, video poker, roulette, poker and crash games 5 %; live dealer games excluded from the 5 % categories (clause 4a)
Order of funds Real money first, then bonus money
Deposit turnover Every deposit must be wagered at least 3 times before withdrawal (terms); a deposit that triggered free spins also needs 3x play-through (clause 1j)
Not eligible Sweden (all bonuses); Ireland, Finland, Croatia (deposit bonuses)

Worked example: EUR 100 first deposit

Deposit EUR 100 with code AVALON100 and you receive a EUR 100 bonus, a balance of EUR 200, plus 100 spins spread over five days. On the FAQ’s reading, wagering is 40 x EUR 100 = EUR 4,000 of bets on slots within 14 days. At the EUR 5 maximum bet that is at least 800 spins. If you played table games at 5 % instead, the same EUR 4,000 would need EUR 80,000 of bets, which is why the bonus is effectively slots-only.

With an average slot return to player (RTP) of 96 %, the expected loss over EUR 4,000 of turnover is about 4 %, or EUR 160. That is more than the EUR 100 bonus, so on average you would expect to finish below your starting balance, although variance means some players win and many bust early. If the operator ever counted deposit plus bonus, the requirement would double to EUR 8,000 and the expected loss to about EUR 320. Free-spin winnings also carry 40x, so EUR 20 won from spins needs EUR 800 of wagering. Our guides to welcome bonuses and free spins bonuses explain how to compare offers like this one.

Cashback, VIP and other promotions

A weekly cashback is paid each Thursday at 00:00 GMT on the previous week’s losses: 5 % on losses between EUR 1,000 and EUR 2,000, and 7 % above EUR 2,000, with 10x wagering (clause 6a). Smaller losers get nothing. The VIP programme has 12 levels named after Arthurian knights, from Beaumains to Arthur, with free spins on the lower levels and cash rewards from level 6 (C$75 on the Canadian page) up to C$150,000 at Arthur. Comp points are earned at one per EUR 25 bet with cash only and exchange at 150 points per EUR 1, so the exchange value is small. Holiday bonuses are sent by email to subscribed players, and the FAQ refers to tournaments shown in the lobby.

Payments and withdrawals

The payments page says there are no fees on deposits or withdrawals and lists the following methods with their per-transaction limits. The page loaded with the Canadian method list; methods and limits can differ by country, and the terms say the full list is shown in the cashier after login.

Method Deposit Withdrawal Min Max per transaction Stated time Fee
Visa, Mastercard (credit) Yes Yes EUR 20 deposit / EUR 10 withdrawal EUR 4,000 Deposit instant; withdrawal 3 to 5 banking days Free
Maestro (debit) Yes Card row listed EUR 20 EUR 4,000 Instant Free
Skrill, Neteller (e-wallets) Yes Yes EUR 20 deposit / EUR 10 withdrawal EUR 4,000 Instant Free
Skrill Rapid Transfer Yes Yes USD 10 / EUR 20 EUR 4,000 Instant Free
Neosurf Yes No EUR 20 EUR 4,000 Instant Free
Paysafecard Yes Yes EUR 20 deposit / EUR 10 withdrawal EUR 1,000 deposit / EUR 250 withdrawal Instant Free
Instadebit Yes Yes CAD 30 CAD 6,000 Instant Free
Interac Yes Yes (e-Transfer) CAD 30 CAD 6,000 deposit / CAD 4,000 withdrawal Deposit instant; withdrawal 1 to 3 banking days Free
Virtual credit cards No Yes EUR 20 EUR 4,000 Instant Free
Bank transfer No Yes EUR 500 EUR 4,000 3 to 5 banking days Free

The deposit table shows logos for Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Neosurf, Neteller, Skrill, Paysafecard, Instadebit, Interac and Rapid Transfer. The withdrawal rows are labelled by type (card, e-wallet, bank) rather than by brand, so the e-wallet withdrawals above follow the terms, which name Skrill and NETELLER. We found no crypto, Trustly or Zimpler option on the page, despite the old version of this review mentioning Zimpler. If you prefer a particular wallet, see our Skrill casinos and Neteller casinos pages, and Canadian readers can compare Interac casinos.

Withdrawal limits and timing

The withdrawal policy in the terms sets these limits:

  • Minimum withdrawal EUR/USD 10 (the FAQ says EUR 20; the terms and payments page say 10).
  • Maximum EUR/USD 4,000 a day, 10,000 a week and 40,000 a month for the standard limit; higher VIP levels may get more at the casino’s discretion.
  • Wins above EUR 40,000 may be paid in monthly instalments of EUR 20,000.
  • Requests above a payment method’s own cap are paid in instalments.
  • Card withdrawals up to the amount deposited may go back to the card; any excess is paid by another method.
  • Every deposit must be wagered three times first, or the casino may charge a processing fee.

On timing, the FAQ says a request can take up to 3 business days to be processed, after which e-wallets are credited instantly and cards or bank transfers take up to 3 more business days. The terms are looser and say some methods may take up to 5 days. These are the operator’s stated times, not times we measured.

KYC: what verification involves

Verification becomes mandatory once your cumulative withdrawals reach EUR 2,000, though the casino can check identity before any payout and hold pending withdrawals meanwhile. Expect requests for photo ID, proof of address such as a utility bill and proof of your payment method, uploaded under the “Documents” tab in your profile. The terms also allow a phone call, a live video call, or a selfie holding your ID with a special sign. If the casino cannot reach you by email or phone within two weeks, the account is locked. Documents must be in the Latin or Cyrillic alphabet, or you may be asked to show them on video. Third-party payments are not accepted: a card or wallet in someone else’s name leads to confiscated winnings.

Two more clauses deserve attention. An account that is not logged into for more than 12 months is inactive and can be charged EUR 5 a month from the 13th month. And if you set a self-exclusion, you cannot log in to withdraw, so you have to email support to get your remaining balance paid out.

Games and software

The About Us page claims “over 3000+ games”. We did not count the lobby ourselves. The games menu links to studios including Evolution, Pragmatic Play (slots and live), NetEnt (part of Evolution), Play’n GO, Yggdrasil, ELK Studios, Hacksaw Gaming, Nolimit City, Playson, Wazdan, Endorphina, Booming Games, BGaming, Betsoft, 3 Oaks, EGT, Amatic and 1×2 Gaming, plus NYX titles, which now come from Light & Wonder. Categories cover slots, bonus-buy slots, jackpots, roulette, blackjack, card games and a live casino.

Provider blocks apply by country. NetEnt games are not supplied in a list of markets that includes Sweden, Denmark and Switzerland, Amatic is blocked for Australia, and the terms still list restrictions on Microgaming games, a catalogue now distributed by Games Global. The FAQ says all games hold RNG certificates. Avalon78 does not publish a list of RTPs; the terms leave it to the player to check each game’s theoretical payout percentage, which you can usually find in the game’s help screen.

Mobile and support

Avalon78 is a browser-based site that adapts to phones; the footer offers no app download, so you play in the mobile browser. Support runs through live chat, a contact form and email at [email protected]. The support page title describes the service as available 24/7, and the FAQ refers to live chat for password and bonus questions. The site is offered in English, with German and Finnish versions linked from the homepage. Withdrawal approvals, verification and complaints all go through the same support address.

Responsible gambling tools

The responsible gaming section of the terms describes a fuller set of tools than many offshore casinos offer. Under “Personal Limits” in your account you can set:

  • Deposit limit per day, week or month.
  • Loss limit per day, week or month, based on deposits rather than winnings.
  • Wager limit per day, week or month.
  • Session limit in minutes.
  • Cooling-off period: no deposits or promotions for a set time, but withdrawals stay open; the account reactivates automatically.
  • Self-exclusion for a set period or indefinitely: the account is disabled at once.
  • Reality check: an hourly in-game reminder of what you have spent.

Decreases take effect immediately; an increase needs email confirmation and only applies once the previous limit expires. Self-exclusion here covers only Avalon78 and not necessarily its sister casinos, and no national scheme such as GAMSTOP, Cruks or Spelpaus applies. The casino is 18+, or older where local law requires. For free, confidential help, GamCare, Gamblers Anonymous and Gambling Therapy (international, online) are listed on the site, and our responsible gambling guide sets out the warning signs and further support.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • MGA licence MGA/B2C/394/2017 confirmed as Licensed in the register, with the operator named on every page
  • No fees on deposits or withdrawals, with clear limits per method
  • Withdrawal limits of EUR 4,000 a day and EUR 40,000 a month
  • Full limit set: deposit, loss, wager and session limits, cooling-off, self-exclusion and reality checks
  • Interac and Instadebit for Canadian players outside Ontario
  • Large lobby with Evolution live tables and many well-known slot studios

Cons

  • Two Dutch KSA fines against the operator, one of EUR 12.64 million
  • 40x wagering on a small welcome package; the expected cost of clearing the first bonus exceeds the bonus
  • Very long restricted-country list, including the UK, USA, Netherlands and Ontario
  • No bonuses at all for Sweden, and no deposit bonuses for Ireland, Finland and Croatia
  • Cashback only starts at EUR 1,000 of weekly losses
  • No published RTP list and no crypto payments
  • Terms last updated January 2024, and the FAQ contradicts them on minimum withdrawal and restricted countries

Who Avalon78 is not for

  • Anyone living in the UK, the USA, the Netherlands, Ontario, Australia or another restricted country.
  • Players in Sweden, Ireland, Finland or Croatia who sign up mainly for the welcome bonus, which they cannot claim.
  • Bonus hunters looking for low wagering: 40x within 14 days is at the demanding end.
  • Table game and live casino players who want to clear a bonus, since those games count 5 % or less.
  • Players who want to pay in crypto.
  • Anyone who wants a casino licensed in their own country, with national self-exclusion and a local regulator. Our legal online casinos guide explains why that matters.
